Axis World, 2022

The world map for an alternate history timeline I've been working on.

When the mushroom cloud rose from Scapa Flow in 1946, the world changed forever. The Axis powers rule all the world by 1954 after the surrender of United States (see my art “Battle of Washington D.C.”), with a dividing line along shooting down from Siberia, Tibet, and Central India, and central North America. The western hemisphere ruled by Greater German Reich and its Panropan Federation affiliates and the east ruled by Japanese Empire and Greater Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Some problems surely came up between the new superpowers, such as the establishment of a Jewish State in eastern Siberia by Japan and the building of the Steel Thread (analogue to Berlin Wall) in North America. The world almost fell into nuclear war when the government of Kingdom of East Indies overthrown by revolutionary movement. The next day, the new “Republic of Indonesia” announced of its resignation from Greater East Asia. The Germans jumped in to offer them “protection” and thus, Japan lost the greatest strategic position in Southeast Asia.

An incident at SS-Stadt Burgund (SS-run autonomous region in Southeast France) and short civil war in the Reich in 2011 pushed the world again to the brink of annihiliation, but war won’t come until three years later. A terrorist attack destroyed Hamburg in thermonuclear explosion, killing 4 million people. German intelligence found out that Japan had secretly funding the attackers. After a diplomatic negotiation which deteriorate fast, the nuked started to fly. Germany launched pre-emptive strikes against strategic facilities of the Japanese Empire and Greater East Asia. The Falling Star War, as it would be known, last for 14 months but Japanese capability to strike back was done by the first four months. At the end, the Greater German Reich and its allies triumphed against the enemy and, suddenly, had the world on their hands.

But the racial law of the Reich would had made world reconciliation hard, so the new Fuhrer (the position still hold at emergency of war) announced of (partial) reformation of the law. Some “races” previously considered as “inferior” are now almost as high as Aryans, and the Fuhrer announced the formation of Yggdrasil Union, a global unification of the surviving nations, with its base at eastern Mittelafrika.
It is now 2022, eight years after the end of War. Earth is in a small Ice Age and many regions turned into wastelands. The capital of Greater German Reich has been moved to Neugermania in Kamerun (in Mittelafrika). The world is at relative peace.
